In my current body of work I use textiles and technology to raise questions about how our body relates to its space and place.
By using textiles, I’m creating wearable objects that take art out of the gallery space and become performances in our daily environment. Using lightweight switches, sensors and LED lights on textiles my desire is to capture those public and private moments that quietly shape who we become.
Through extensive cross-disciplinary research, my goal is that these wearable art works or prototypes will eventually lead to creating works that offer our body a more tactile and sensory experience as a basis to understand where we came from, who we are today, and who we want to become.
